Dispusip Holds Talkshow About Literacy in Digita Era

Jakarta Library and Archive Dept. (Dispusip) holds talk show themed Literacy to Be Productive and Creative in Digital Era with Library at City Library, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/28).
Nowadays, young people becomes more simple and wants to access everything easily
100 participants of employees from school libraries, urban village libraries, public libraries in regions, and libraries in universities attended the event.
"Jakarta has been planned to be a literacy city since 2015. Thus it needs a continuous activities. This activity will also give information about the important of reading and gain some knowledge," said Wahyu Haryadi, Head of Jakarta Dispusip.
Pondok Bambu to Have Based-IT LibraryMeanwhile, Jakarta's None Buku 2017, Feriza Triana (20) expressed, this talk show is important in order to follow the current era's development, especially advanced information technology.
"Nowadays, young people become more simple and want to access everything easily. They are more likely to choose digital than a real book. So this talk show gives us a picture of their needs towards reading in current digital era," she mentioned.
She added that Jakarta has a digital library. Thousands of digital books can be accessed through I-jakarta application by download it on smartphone.
"We need to register before enter I-jakarta. After being registered, we will get digital account to access any books that we want," she explained.
